Now an established apprentice, Hannah Morris had not always known what she wanted to do. She attended sixth form college however, after a year found herself wanting to make a change to find the right path that would allow her to feel positive about the future.
Realising that her time studying for her AS Levels exams was not the appropriate way for her to progress, Hannah found herself applying for a position in Business Administration at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. Though nervous on the day of the interview, Hannah impressed the employer and was offered a role within the organisation in October 2017, and soon began an exciting role that allowed her to learn and earn at the same time.
Hannah’s motivation and commitment were soon spotted by her employer, who thought an apprenticeship would be a structured way for her to gain a credible qualification whilst working. Soon after, Hannah was enrolled on a Business Administration Level 3 programme under the close mentorship of Qube Learning, a leading national training provider. Qube Learning’s vast experience with small, medium and large businesses meant that they could offer valuable insight into apprenticeships and how they can not only impact an individual but an organisation too.
Hannah continues to flourish as a Qube Learning apprentice at the NHS, the programme has installed a new confidence in her and expanded her skillset within a professional and personal sphere. The apprenticeship has helped Hannah find faith in herself, and she now finds speaking to people directly and on the phone a lot easier than ever before. She attends meetings to help implement news systems at work, helps organise an annual career event that involves 18 schools with different departments teaching guests about their roles within the NHS, all of which she is very proud of.
Commenting on her work, Hannah said: “I never dreamed I would be here today, and I’m delighted that I was given the chance to undertake an apprenticeship. It has made such a difference to me and I feel grateful that this kind of educational route is available. My future is bright, and I hope to move up to Level 4 with my employer. If anyone ever has any doubt please don’t give up, someone will see your worth just like Qube Learning and Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust has with me.”
Skills Tutor, Sandra Baker, of Qube Learning said “Hannah has been a pleasure to support throughout her course, always eager to learn and develop her knowledge with true passion. Hannah takes on every task with such purpose. I wish her all the best, she is a great example of how an apprenticeship can really be a fantastic learning and such an exciting path to take.”
